Vet-to-Vet Conference

Agriculture in general and pig production in particular has associated risks that can be impossible to control. Smart producers try to manage these risks. To provide assistance, WALDO Farms works with producers to verify that incoming breeding stock will be compatible with their herds. Upon request, a conference can be arranged between the customer’s veterinarian and the WALDO Farms veterinarian to verify the status of each herd and to establish a protocol for isolation-acclimation of new breeding stock. Direct consultation between veterinary professionals is the best way to insure good communication. This can be critically important to the success of your operation.  Pig Delivery 

Delivery arrangements are made with the purchaser or his/her designated manager. Every effort will be made to accommodate customer requests regarding the timing and location of each delivery. Boars and/or gilts will be delivered to the site designated by the purchaser. However, Waldo Farms CANNOT and DOES NOT assume any responsibility for improper isolation-acclimation of new breeding stock. Health papers plus WALDO performance certification and other service documents will be provided at delivery.

 Guarantee & Replacement Policy

1.	BOARS: Waldo Farms and the herds they represent guarantee boars to be breeders under acceptable conditions. Boars used for breeding within 30 days of delivery will not be covered by warranty. Warranty will expire 90 days after delivery because we cannot know or control conditions, stress, nutrition, health challenges, etc. of the buyer’s farm. Upon assessment and mutual agreement, a typical non-breeder boar is sent to market, we receive the salvage value and provide another boar from the farm of origin.
2.	GILTS: An estimated 1% of gilts fail to breed for physiological reasons. Adjustments for potential non-breeding gilts are made at the time of sale by discount. There is no other guarantee on gilts.
3.	SEMEN: Due to the large number of variables that affect semen viability and fertility, Waldo Farms makes no warranty of any kind regarding semen. Service questions should be directed to the appropriate affiliate WALDOai Center.
4.	HEALTH: Waldo Farms conforms to or exceeds State and Federal health regulations governing the movement of breeding stock. However, Waldo Farms cannot and does not guarantee health status, fitness or the absence of any disease in any animal or semen. CONSEQUENTLY, WALDO FARMS AND /OR ITS’ REPRESENTATIVES MAKE NO EXPRESSED, IMPLIED, ASSUMMED OR STATED WARRANTEES, OR REPRESENTATIONS RELATING TO HEALTH OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PUROSE.
5.	CONTRACT: Pedigrees will not be available unless agreed to at time of order. Without written approval, boars will not be re-sold, nor will semen be collected or sold. Animals will remain the property of Waldo Farms until full payment is received. CUSTOMER MUST FOLLOW PROPERISOLATION, ACCLIMATION, VACCINATION AND BREEDING PROTOCOL AS SET OUT BY HIS/HERVETERINARIAN OR USE THE WALDO-RECOMMEND PROTOCOL RECEIVED AT DELIVERY. IF ONE OF THESE PROTOCOLS IS NOT FOLLOWED, THE CUSTOMER ASSUMES THE LOSS OF POTENTIAL NON-BREEDING BOARS AND/OR GILTS.

Limit of Liability 

PIG HEALTH.  Waldo Farms continuously monitors pig health status and conforms to or exceeds State and Federal health regulations governing the movement of swine breeding stock. Even so, because of unknown biological variables and limits on diagnostic technology, it is impossible to assure our customers of what disease organism(s) a pig does NOT carry. Therefore, Waldo Farms CANNOT and DOES NOT guarantee the health status or the absence of any disease in any delivered animal or semen.

PIG GENETICS.  Waldo Farms genetic lines have been developed through years of intensive performance testing and selection. Waldo Farms boars, gilts and semen carry genes with superior durability and performance POTENTIAL. However, many environmental and other variables have a significant effect on the performance of swine. Therefore, Waldo Farms CANNOT and DOES NOT guarantee the actual performance on your farm such as conception rate, pigs born alive, pigs weaned, growth rate, feed conversion, backfat, grade and yield or any other type of performance.
