Whole-herd
performance testing is the foundation of the WALDO genetics program. The
Nebraska SPF Association has recorded all test data on 100% of WALDO
test pigs since 1960. This independent industry group provides on-going
validation of the WALDO program and symbolizes our dedication to
accurate, un-biased data recording and our absolute commitment to pig
improvement.

| Today, computer-aided selection using
Best Linear Unbiased Prediction (BLUP) Estimated Breeding Values (EBV)
and Expected Progeny Differences (EPD) are the cornerstones of the WALDO
selection program. BLUP is a mathematical procedure that uses known
pedigree relationships to improve the accuracy of ranking pigs for
genetic merit. BLUP estimates are adjusted for the effects of factors
such as age, sex, parity, litter size, herd, test pen on-test and
off-test weights, etc. Waldo Farms places great importance on evaluating
production records and EBV/EPD to constantly improve our genetics. |

| WALDO Farms works in cooperation with
the National Swine Registry (NSR) STAGES and Herdsman programs. Multiple
reports and summaries are carefully evaluated when selecting herd replacements. We use the same care in selecting boars and/or gilts for
your herd. If you need the
latest technology, WALDO offers gene-transfer semen for artificial
insemination, Segregated Early Weaning (SEW) pigs and complete,
closed-herd breeding programs plus consulting services. You can buy

intensive performance testing and selection. Waldo Farms boars, gilts
and semen carry genes with superior durability and performance
POTENTIAL. However, many environmental and other variables have a
significant effect on the performance of swine. Therefore, Waldo Farms
CANNOT and DOES NOT guarantee the actual performance on your farm such
as conception rate, pigs born alive, pigs weaned, growth rate, feed
conversion, backfat, grade and yield or any other type of performance. |
