Carcass
Pork value comes naturally.
Many
producers using company genetics are discovering that WALDO
genetics are their best option to improve pig vigor, durability,
growth and handling qualities while still retaining the same high
carcass lean meat yield. As an extra bonus, they discover that the
pork they produce has much-improved quality (higher pH, color,
marbling, tenderness and juiciness) when compared to many
“too-lean” company lines. Check the results of national field
and research trials! |

Quality is Job ONE
WALDO Farms selects for pork quality by intensively evaluating carcasses
of barrows and gilts that are littlermates to WALDO Nucleus Herd
replacements. Technology used to measure these traits includes TOBEC, AUTO-FOM, Minolta and Instron plus taste panel tests. Currently, about 60 carcasses are evaluated per month.
